Thibodaux Regional Swim Team works to develop motivated athletes and those new to swimming who are driven to succeed in a competitive environment. A committed staff of coaches and parent volunteers supports the growth of the team and swimmers by developing a safe, supportive, and educational environment for all athletes. And along the way, we all have a good time!
Frequently Asked Questions
USA swim season is year-round divided into Short Course (SCY) and Long Course (LCM). Short Course extends August thru February whereas Long Course runs March thru July. Short Course (SCY) competes in 25 yard increments races; Long Course (LCM) competes in 50 meter increment races.
Swim meets occur on various weekends and some large meets may involve weekdays; however, meets are typically on Saturdays and Sundays once monthly. Multiple meets may occur in the same month.
Practices are daily each afternoon following school. The number of practices and exact practice times depend on the age and level of your child. You can view our swim team practice and meet schedule under "Resources".
Upon swim team evaluations, children must be able to comfortably swim one length of a 25 yard pool. If your child is not quite there yet, let us know, we have high qualtiy swim lessons offered at the Thibodaux Regional Fitness Center year-round which we can assist you with to propel your child in their ability. Swim lessons are available for toddlers to adults year-round by calling 985-493-4950.
Registration fees vary depending on whether or not one or more parents are current Thibodaux Regional Fitness Center members. Monthly fees include the direction of a Registered Sports Dietitian, professional dry land training and facilities, as well as access to a state-of-the-art facility and equipment during your swimmers coaching sessions.

Once your evaluation is scheduled and completed, you will then register and setup payment on our website's home page. A USA Swimming membership is required to swim in USAS sanctioned swim meets.
